Welcome to the Lake Tahoe Chapter, NSDAR

Lake Tahoe Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was officially chartered in South Lake Tahoe, California on February 5, 2019. DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization whose mission is historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Membership in the chapter is open to any woman 18 years of age and older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a man or woman who aided in achieving American independence.  Lake Tahoe Chapter is one of over 3,000 chapters worldwide with international membership of over 185,000 women.

Our local Lake Tahoe Chapter is a diverse group of women who range in age from 28 to 75 and include professionals, entrepreneurs, homemakers, volunteers and retirees.  Although we’re of diverse backgrounds and beliefs, we’re united in our commitment of service to the communities in the Lake Tahoe Basin.  Some of our many community service projects include supporting military veterans and homeless students at Lake Tahoe Community College, honoring local high school students with DAR Good Citizen Awards, hosting Beginning Genealogy Workshops, supporting local conservation efforts, and collecting flags for flag retirement ceremonies. Our chapter is also very active in the restoration and preservation of a local 150 yr. old historical cemetery that has suffered from neglect and vandalism.

We invite you to explore our website and consider membership in our active, friendly, and growing chapter!  Please contact us and attend one of our meetings!  We look forward to meeting you!
